William Gillanders, M.D., believes in the importance of integrating knowledge of biology, psychology and cultural context into each patient's treatment plan. Part of the joy and challenge of family medicine is working with people of all ages and both sexes. In addition to treating patients, he also directs the Providence Milwaukie Hospital Family Practice Residency Program. "I enjoy providing excellent clinical care in a stimulating learning environment for the residents."
Dr. Gillanders received his medical degree from the University of California at San Francisco. He completed his residency at the University of Washington and practiced for ten years in White Salmon, Washington, before pursuing an academic career. He directed successful residency programs in Ohio and California before joining the Providence team.
Dr. Gillanders and his wife, enjoy skiing, hiking, biking and scuba diving. They have five grown children and five grandchildren
