Dr. Alison Mitchell became a family physician because she loves taking care of patients at every stage of their lives, from newborn to seniors, with a special emphasis on maternal and child health. "I value getting to know my patient's and their families," she says. "How many specialties allow you to care for several generations of one family? It's a privilege."
With an emphasis on prevention, Dr. Mitchell helps her patients make small changes that can have a big impact on their health. "My role is to help people learn how to stay healthy, but also teach them how to live well while managing a chronic illness such as diabetes."
After earning her medical degree from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Mitchell completed her residency at San Jose Hospital Family Practice Program, an affiliate of Stanford University.
She enjoys cooking, hiking with her dog and traveling. She speaks both Spanish and English.
