Dr. Jonathan Daniel believes in keeping his patients well informed throughout their care. “It’s important to communicate with patients and families so they are comfortable with each step we take together,” he says. “I walk with each patient through the diagnosis, surgical care and post-treatment recovery.”   As a surgeon, Dr. Daniel treats every procedure with great attention to detail. “Even the most technically flawless surgical procedures require excellent pre- and post-care to achieve excellent results,” he says.  

Board certified in thoracic surgery, Dr. Daniel earned his medical degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing and completed his internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School.  

His areas of expertise include minimally invasive thoracic surgery, mesothelioma, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and benign disease of the lung and esophagus.Dr. Daniel sees patients at Providence Thoracic Surgery clinic and the Lung Cancer Clinic.Dr. Daniel is associated with Providence Cancer Center and the Providence Thoracic Surgery Program.
