For Dr. Lacayanga, motherhood lends a sense of empathy to her medical practice. "As a mother, I feel I'm better able to listen and understand the questions a parent has about the development of their child or the stress they feel when their child is ill" she says.
A board-certified pediatrician, Dr. Lacayanga earned her medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. She completed her residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Lacayanga was born in the Philippines and speaks Filipino and Spanish. Outside of her medical practice, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, as well as traveling and cooking.
