Aoi Mizushima, M.D., has always had an interest in community health and caring for underserved populations. "Being a primary care physician, one of the most important roles I have is to balance direct patient care and advocacy with paying attention to the health of the community as a whole," she says.
Being of Mexican-Japanese heritage, Dr. Mizushima feels she is particularly sensitive to cultural differences regarding health care. And as a mother of two, she also knows about the challenges of raising children while being a working parent. As part of her practice, Dr. Mizushima offers gynecology and obstetrical care through to delivery.
Dr. Mizushima earned her medical degree at the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison, Wis. When away from her practice, she enjoys hiking, traveling and cooking. She is also fluent in Spanish.
