"Most of my practice involves fixing a specific problem in an otherwise healthy child, who will recover without complications with proper support and minimal intervention," says Dr. Ken Pippus. "I find this to be a very satisfying achievement."
Dr. Pippus recognizes that having a child undergo a surgical procedure can be stressful. He strives to make the child and family as comfortable as possible by discussing the procedure and the anticipated course of events with them in a calm, respectful manner.
Dr. Pippus earned his medical degree at the University of Calgary in Alberta. After completing an internship at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, Ohio, he completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Calgary and a fellowship in pediatric surgery at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. In addition, he holds a master's degree in pharmacology from the University of Calgary.
Dr. Pippus is board certified by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada with special competence in pediatric surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Association.
