Biography
Since completing her training, Dr. Cristofani worked in pediatric intensive care and neonatal intensive care at Bess Kaiser in Portland for seven years, and then in the pediatric intensive care at Legacy Emanuel Children's Hospital for 17 years. She was the first national Pediatric Advanced Life Support faculty from Oregon, and taught PALS classes throughout Oregon for 24 years.
Dr. Cristofani has been very active in promoting emergency medical care for children. She is a member of the Emergency Medical Services for Children Committee of the State of Oregon, she authored advanced and basic pediatric texts for paramedics, taught prehospital pediatric classes for many years, and is developing protocols for prehospital care of children.
Dr. Cristofani moved to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in 2006. She initially worked as a pediatric hospitalist, where she participated in designing pediatric standard order sets, helped to establish a successful Fall Pediatric Conference, and offered pediatric mock codes.
When the Providence St. Vincent Pediatric ICU opened, Dr. Cristofani joined the attending staff and now provides care for critically ill children in the PICU.
When she is not working, Dr. Cristofani enjoys backpacking, foraging for wild mushrooms, exploring the many fauna of tide pools, gardening, classical music, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
