What is an audiologist?

The audiology program at Providence Neurodevelopmental Center for Children offers a full range of services for children of all ages. Our audiologists are specially trained to identify hearing problems in children at all developmental levels. Many different types of hearing tests can be used to check your child’s hearing, including Auditory Brain Response or ABR testing (with or without sedation). We have hearing tests for newborns, infants, toddlers and older children.
Our pediatric Audiologists are experienced in fitting hard of hearing and deaf children with hearing aids at all ages, from infancy through teenagers. We use the most current technology available to give your hard of hearing child the chance to experience the sounds they need to hear for communication and development. We are able to fit your child with new hearing aids or we can work with the technology he or she may already be using.
