“ProvExpert” is the Providence Health & Services brand of McKesson’s “Horizon Expert Orders” CPOE application which allows orders to be entered directly by providers at Providence Portland Medical Center and Providence Milwaukie Hospital. This system communicates detailed orders and information about nursing care (via “Care Organizer”), medications (“Meds Manager”), diagnostic testing and procedures (“STAR” and “Cerner Lab”), and equipment to many departments while also helping support optimal workflows and Transfer Medication Reconciliation. Clinical Decision Support is supplied in the form of order sets, dosing advisors, after-hours ordering guides, and alerts for allergies, interactions and duplications, as well as other useful clinical prompts.
