Biography
Bill J. Wright, Ph.D.,
is senior research scientist at CORE. Dr. Wright is a sociologist and research methodologist with a primary focus on survey design, and specializes in longitudinal survey research with low-income populations. His principal areas of interest include research in health policy, access to care and disparities in health care systems. Dr. Wright has led numerous studies of low-income Oregonians, and is a principal investigator on the Oregon Health Study, the first-ever randomized trial on the effects of health insurance. His prior research examined the impact of structural characteristics in Medicaid Managed Care systems on member churning and the relationship between health insurance coverage and access to or use of different types of care for low-income populations, as well as the impact of insurance coverage on health for vulnerable populations.
