Providence Health & Services is a leader in children's health care. Recognized in our community for providing extraordinary care to children and their families, Providence cares for tens of thousands of children each year in Oregon. One-quarter of all Oregon children – that’s more than 11,000 babies a year – begin their lives in a Providence hospital.

Additionally, Providence cares for thousands more children in our Providence Medical Group clinics and through Providence Health Plan.

Providence cares for more than 32,000 children each year in our Portland area emergency rooms, including nearly 15,000 children in our children's emergency room at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. In this dedicated children's emergency room, we are equipped, staffed and designed to care for children of all ages - from newborns to toddlers to teenagers - 24 hours a day. Should your child need to stay overnight, the pediatric acute and intensive care units allow us to provide a connected experience of care for children and their families.
